A Word from the President
Our Provincial Show will be Aug 21/22 in Roseneath Ontario. We will hold our Trillium Classic back in the Ottawa Valley for 2011.
We decided to skip Ottawa Valley this year because the National YCS show is so close we didn't want people to have to pick one or the other or it deter people from going to one because they went to the other.
The National Show will be held in Victoriaville, Quebec, Thanksgiving weekend. We would like to have as many Ontario members attend as possible and apply for the out of province sponsorship. It is going to be a great year and will be held in conjunction with ExpoBeouf.
Also the OYCS will be having our showmanship show at the Toronto Royal Winter Fair again this year.
The OYCS needs everyone's help this year to help with funding. The OYCS is responsible for selling at least 10 dates in the National YCSA Annual Calendar. They are $50 each and are first come first serve. Ontario is also responsible for selling a full page/month AD as well as a banner. (Bidding starts at $1000 and $500 respectively and will be auctioned off at the National Meeting in October. These are all excellent and affordable ways to get your events, sales, farms and businesses advertised across Canada because the Calendar goes out with the Winter edition of Simmental Country! That's National Advertising for as little as $50, $500 or $1000! Please Contact Chelsea O'Connor or any of the other board members for more information or to purchase a date Or make a bid on the Full Month or Banner AD.
The Ontario Board is also needing an item donated so that we can send it to the Foundation Auction.
If anyone could assist us and use your connections to help us sell the 10 dates and the Full Page AD & Banner it would be greatly appreciated. I sadly am not that well connected and it will take time for me to meet everyone I should because I haven't had this position that long and would like to succeed for our Board, our various clubs and YCS as a whole in Ontario.
